Valentines Day

Valentines day is tomorrow and it is the only celebratory day that I can think of that is still a working day. Christmas and Easter are both holidays so why isn't Valentines? It is celebrated in so many countries all around the world however people still have to go to work, school and college. Some schools do have an inset day but that is probably because the teachers can not stand seeing loved up youths walking around. There is one plausible reason why February the 14th is never a bank holiday; it's not actually that special. Valentines day has turned into females having high expectations and males not even knowing what day it is.

It is supposed to be about love and only that however it is not a special day because you are suppose to love the entire year round, not just care once every 365 days and be done with it. V-day is not suppose to be about the cheesy toys and the really disgusting chocolate (I still have no idea why people buy it - ASDA sell their own brand for 30p and its a lot nicer), it is suppose to be about appreciating what you've got and how loved you are. You can love other people for the entire year but the 14th of February is about you. You realizing that people care about you and you being happy and grateful for that.

Valentines day originally came from St Valentines who used to help couples get secretly married. I think we should all learn from the secrecy of that so please, no PDA. You're not showing other people how much money you can spend. You are spending as much time as you can with the person you love and you are giving love to get love back.

- Happy V day
